Prof. Yuguang Fang

Yuguang “Michael” Fang received an MS in Mathematics from Qufu Normal University, and two PhD degrees from Case Western Reserve University and Boston University. After faculty appointments at New Jersey Institute of Technology and the University of Florida, he joined City University of Hong Kong in 2022 as Chair Professor of Internet of Things under the Hong Kong Global STEM Professorship Scheme, serving as Founding Director of the JC STEM Lab of Smart City. He is Fellow of ACM, IEEE and AAAS. His distinguished honours include the US NSF CAREER Award, ONR Young Investigator Award, and multiple IEEE Communications Society technical awards. He has held many prestigious visiting and endowed professorships. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief ofIEEE Transactions on Machine Learning in Communications and Networking, and previously led flagship journals includingIEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology andIEEE Wireless Communications. He has chaired major IEEE conferences such as INFOCOM and taken key leadership roles within the IEEE Communications Society.
